Nelson Mandela Bay half marathon cancelled after row over broadcasting rights
Decision taken because big events such as voter registration were on same day, SABC says
The inaugural SABC Half Marathon meant to be held in Gqeberha this weekend was cancelled following a dispute with Athletics SA (ASA) over broadcasting rights for the event.
Earlier in November, ASA, which holds television broadcasting rights for official races in the country, had threatened legal action if the SABC hosted the event on November 18 without its approval. ..
